Illuminations, Inc. History

Carlos E. Galavis, President and founder of Illuminations, Inc. is a native of Caracas, Venezuela. Carlos graduated from the University of Florida in 1974, where he received his degree in Mechanical Engineering. Carlos founded Illuminations 15 years ago when he saw the need to beautify the Tallahassee community with outdoor lighting. Carlos is a certified low voltage license contractor in both Florida and Georgia.

Illuminations has provided outdoor lighting to more than 900 clients. Our work includes lighting at the entrances of some of Tallahassee’s finest subdivisions including: Golden Eagle, Killearn Estates, Bobbin Brook, Bobbin Trace, Ox Bottom, Whitfield Plantation and Buckhead. Our commercial projects include the recently completed Duval Hotel. We have completed projects in Tallahassee and surrounding communities including: Destin, Dade City, Jacksonville, Gainesville, Miami, Bainbridge, Thomasville and Cairo.

Our Philosophy:

Outdoor lighting is an art., we see it as a painting on canvas, and we paint the night with light. We believe that there is no substitute for our knowledge and experience in lighting systems, and that you should consider only using experienced, licensed contractors when installing your lighting system.

Our mission is to continue to make Tallahassee the most beautiful city at night by providing the most artfully designed outdoor lighting systems, using the best fixtures, while providing same day or next day service for your lighting maintenance.
